Re: the removal of the dead moose from Harvey avenue with a crane.
Really, a crane?
This is a classic case of driving tacks with an expensive sledge hammer! It would be interesting to know how much this cost.
I have personally removed several moose from their place of demise and never have employed (or needed) a crane. With the knife that is in my pocket at this moment, and a pickup truck, (help from a couple of non squeamish people would have been useful but not essential), I, or any one of thousands of other hunters could have removed the moose from Harvey ave., in less time than it took to get the crane there.
But I guess, a call on the cellphone, and a couple of thousand of taxpayers dollars is all it takes to avoid someone getting their hands bloody. If a machine is deemed essential, a backhoe or front end loader on a tractor would do the job quite handily.
I wonder what became of hundreds of pounds of good meat.
