The CN railway

I am saddened by all the comments I have seen by people who think money is the most important thing in life. They will destroy/ruin/throw away anything in the name of a dollar.

Oyama, which has been called the “Jewel of the Okanagan” is rapidly becoming the “Gravel Pit of the Okanagan”, and now we have more people determined to ruin what’s left, all because of their worship of money.

Pelmewash Parkway is not a substitute, as some uninformed people seem to insist. It is a busy road that is becoming a truck route for the truckers who don’t want to climb the hill, and it runs along one side of Wood Lake. The most spectacular part of the rail line runs along Kalamalka lake, and there is no other access to that area.

I have lived in the Okanagan for over 40 years, and most of what made it such an amazing area has been destroyed in the name of money and the fools who pursue it. Sure, go ahead and tear everything up, but can’t we save just this one little piece so we have something left to actually show our children and grandchildren, not just in photographs?
