Colin Hansen has been saying all along that that it is patient care that is of utmost important since this dispute began. When asked if the government was considering 'back to work' legislation he said yes as so many surgeries were being cancelled. When asked when, he stated that he would let the strike go on longer if the union would agree to concessions. I would understand that to mean that as long as the union was agreeing to the government's contract of less benefits, lower wages, extended work week, loss of jobs, contracting out etc., he would allow the strike to continue much longer. To hell with the patient care if the liberals were getting their way.
I also know that there are many people who say others would gladly take these workers place at the reduced wage but I wonder if there will be any jobs left to take. Isn't that one of the issues?
