Don't choose for me

What right does the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition have to make the choice for me whether I want to live as a disabled person or not? How dare you make that choice for me. If you choose to see your loved ones suffer year after year... have at it. I have no right to take that choice away from you.  But as far as I’m concerned it takes a huge act of love for family to release a family member from their agony.

I am grateful that my family will be able to “let me go” when my time comes as the thought of living the way some of these people have had to, because of someone else’s lousy decision, is horrific. I commend those people and their valiant fight for their right who had to endure years of suffering. As far as Mr. Latimer... what a bloody tragedy that was. What an agonizing decision that must have been for him, and what love he had for his daughter, only to be punished by a system’s self righteous attitude. Shame on you.

As far as that decision being the springboard for abuse, that’s ridiculous. You want to be ridiculous? Then I suggest we get rid of butcher knives, baseball bats, cars and alcohol and a multitude of other devices that have been used for abuse. Not to mention people themselves... from priests to pirates.

No, no, choose what you want... but don’t choose for me.
