Now the rest of CUPE is planning on a protest against the government? Why not the whole damn province go on strike? Let's shut it all down to satisfy a few. Better yet, let's shut everything down and bring the province to a standstill. Isn't that a super idea? If you answered yes to that question then you all have rocks in your heads.
If these unions cripple our province anymore( it is bad enough the government cripples it) we may not fully recover for years. I was always taught 2 wrongs do NOT make a right! You were all taught the very same thing. What is this province coming to? Have all of you lost your minds? If you are not happy with the present government then why did you vote for them? Can anyone of you answer me that?
You all make our kids pay for it. You should all be very ashamed of yourselves. Now your teaching them it's OK to break the law. What next are you going to teach them? I am afraid to ask. We are all responsible in one way or another for the state we are in in Canada and this province. Do not make it worse. This is a democracy! And do not say the government is turning it into a dictatorship even if they are....remember, you voted for them, I did not. So that makes it YOUR fault for the state of affairs we have today. Stop making the kids pay for it!
Unions are a good thing in some situations but mostly they have far too much power and use that power in ways that are not always beneficial to the whole, only a few.
You want to get things done in B.C. and want the people to back you? Then ask them.......get them to sign a petition. The government gets a petition with half a million or a million names on it, I would tend to think they will take notice and listen to the people. The way the teachers are going about things is terribly wrong. You all have to remember that money is not endless and asking for more constantly is getting us all nowhere. Will any of you be at all happy..ever?
Maybe you will start to think twice about who you put in office. Let's all remember that politicians all lie when it comes close to election time. That has always been and probably forever will be. Just be careful who you put in office if you are not satisfied with the way things are. You all need to give your heads a shake.
Here is a novel idea. What if we make things as such so that if our local government is not doing the job they say, they get relieved of their jobs.......period. No pension, no golden handshake they just leave. Make them totally accountable. Come election time, make them all pay for their own campaigns. Let's have them in office for 2 years only. Yes we might get sick of election time but if they know their jobs are on the line and can only be held based on their performance then I'm sure you would see a much better job being done. Let's get rid of some of the red tape and use our common sense. It has worked for the human race since we came into being on this planet so I'm sure it will work for politicians and unions and everyone else.
