I wanted to take the time to write an encouraging letter to our wonderful community as we head in to the holiday’s. Kelowna is an amazing community full of great people and leaders. This is one of the most beautiful places in the world to call home. I say this because in 2014 I made the decision to move back home after spending 8 years living in the United States. Anywhere I lived could not match the peace and beauty of Kelowna. We are truly blessed as a community to be surrounded with culture, nature, good food, GREAT CHURCHES, and most of all good hearted people.
There will always be those who like to grumble about issues that may or may not affect the general population but I ask of you this Christmas season to share your positive spirits and uplifting words to those who need it. Take time out of your day to notice the beauty around you instead of the slow car in front of you. Put your technology to the side and ask your loved ones to tell you something you don’t know about them. Share your smile with those you pass at the mall or simply reflect upon all of the good in this amazing world.
I am grateful for my family, my fiancé, and the fact that I get to live in this great city. Please be kind to one another this season and especially to those in need. You will be amazed at what your sharing of kindness can do for others but most of all for yourself. Visit citylightkelowna.ca for more ideas on how to spread some light this Christmas.
