Saving memories

A few weeks back, some friends from the US came for a visit.  While we were doing the Wells Grey-Jasper-Banff loop, her camera stopped working.

She wasn't tech enough to figure out what was wrong so I took a look at it and found that it had nearly 1000 pictures in it..some were from as far back as 2012.  I've since checked around and it turns out there are thousands of you out there with up to 1000 pics in your gadget.

This relates directly to those heartbreaking pleas to get lost or stolen cameras back to get their priceless memories (which weren't backed up anywhere).

Here is the solution:  When you're done with your trip/vacation, sit down with the camera and go thru all the pictures. Save the great ones.. delete the junk/fuzzy/mystery (someone's foot? a large thumb?).  The ones you're going to keep, rename them in order so that all the ones that relate can be grouped together.  Then, copy or drag the "keepers" over to a folder or folders you create in/on your laptop/PC..Start with a main folder 'My Pictures' and under that, sub folders like Disneyland 2103,  June's Hawaii wedding, Stanley Park,  Jasper-Banff,  CABO and so on. Then delete the rest.

There is no reason to lose all these "memories"  because someone is too lazy to sort and save them. Do it today and empty the camera's memory card for next time and there'll be no whining required!
