Highway mayhem

Every day someone is killed or injured on our highways. If even one life was saved by having lower speed limits it would be worthwhile (just ask the relative of a lost one). I often drive the highway and set my cruise control to the speed limit. It goes without saying that I am continually passed by people going 10,20,30 km faster.

I am totally amazed that  the person responsible for setting the speed limit doesn't seem to read the paper or listen to the news. How can they possibly justify increasing the speed limit on all of the highways? Some of which should actually be lowered instead of increased.
