I don't like labor disputes. I think it is an ignorant and selfish action to take. As supposedly educated people in a supposedly educated country, why can't common sense prevail? The union people act like a pack of rabid dogs, and the employer tries to be a big hero.
Where is the common sense? In the HEU case, they are asking for more money than people in the private sector are getting for the same work, and then they are asking for no privatizing out at the same time. The government seems to think they are smarter and privatizing is their big solution.
I say, get rid of half of the management, put more responsibilities on the workers, and the money saved could be used to keep up a decent wage and then there would be no more reason to talk about privatizing. No doubt, the other benefit would be a more efficiently run organization with more common sense.
