Real Problems In Kelowna

I would like to start by saying I am on the Castanet site at least once a day and really enjoy the site. I read all of the letters people submit and it amazes me that people are writing letters about stupid petty things. They must have alot of time on their hands.

We have so many more important issues happening in Kelowna and in this world we live in. First off we have a severe drug problem in this city and people need to wake up to that fact. We have a serious issue about the homeless in this city, that no one seems to be addressing. We have a very high crime rate. We don't have enough affordable housing for people who need it and there are a lot of them.

We have a problem with employment when people have to work two to three jobs just to barely get by. We have children going to school hungry in this city. These are the topics we should be talking about. I am tired of reading letters posted about ridiculous stuff like for example the whole Harry Potter thing. It's a book people and at least they are reading and not glued to the computer or tv. Horses that pooh on the green way, give me a break! Did you know bears do their business there too and many other animals but thats life.

Another one was about leaving up road side memorials. I was appalled with this person. I hope she never has to go through something like that. I am getting so sick and tired of reading these useless problems people are writing about. People give your heads a shake if you are going to use this to talk about problems, then at least let them be worthy and important ones to read and talk about the real problems we all have to deal with in this city, not the petty ones.

Anyone can complain about everything but it is the people who really care about this city that are submitting letters that are worthy of reading and are concerned about the real problems we have in Kelowna.
