Pick n Pay cable pricing

It would be nice if this works out in the end as if a normal "user/consumer" had set it up.
I will grant that there are hundreds of channels/broadcasters out there and they'd ALL like it if we subscribed and PAID FOR their channel(s) but being DRAGGED to a channel and forced to pay when one has no intention of ever watching it smacks of way too much control of the broadcast airwaves by the producers and not near enough by the "public/consumer. The system that is in place right now must have been designed by a recent graduate of the "Cuckoo's Nest".
Imagine, you're in Save On Foods pushing your cart down the aisle, you stop at the coffee and try to put a 1KG package into your CART..a Leprechaun hops up into the kiddie seat and says: "No No, me buyeee, to GET COFFEE, you also have to buy Vinegar, Grape Juice, soda water and ketchup!"
You put the coffee back and little "Finnegan" disappears.
On the next aisle, you pick up a box of crackers and HE'S BAACK : "You have to buy dog biscuits, corn chips, peanut butter and light bulbs to get those crackers matey!"
As Kevin O'Leary would say: "Stop the Insanity!"
My Telus Optik TV features probably 600 or more available channels. To get the 47 channels I actually MIGHT watch, I am forced to subscribe to 9 different Packages @ Theme packs and more.
Four of them work this way: One contains only ONE channel I want to see out of the 6 I have to take, another, the same, ONE out of 6 and two others have TWO channels I want to see out of 6 and so it goes. So I have to subscribe to 24 Channels to see the Six that I want. I must pay for over 152 Channels to get the roughly twelve I use often.
I'm sorry (actually I'm not) but if these "other" channels we're forced to bundle right now can't survive on their own, well the marketplace should decide and they should die off like the dinosaurs...Kevin O'Leary is right!
