Sip and Savour Popcorn?

Cody Pollard of Fermented Dining has shaken up the Kelowna beverage scene with his event bartending and catering business.

Now, he is taking his expertise and passion for helping others to a whole new lever by creating Sip and Savour Okanagan. This is a paired food and beverage event, but with a twist – only caterers.

Some of the best caterers in the valley are going to partner with distilleries, wineries, breweries and cideries to create unique dishes.

Somehow he has Wild Son performing while you dine as well. Tickets are $30 and you receive 10 tokens to start, extra tokens costing only $2.

I wasn’t able to share all the details with you eight or nine months ago, but I told you to watch out for a new app called Popcorn Enabled

The launch party is happening this Saturday at the Weezer concert at the SOEC in Penticton.
Popcorn is a Kelowna-based app that enables users to purchase food and beverages from their seat on their smart phone and pickup when notified.

If you’re going to Weezer, download the app from the app store before you arrive so you can order on your way in.

Congratulations to Tammy McKenny as she is the new owner of My Device Phones

MyDevice sells used iPhones, Android phones and other devices right here in Kelowna. They offer an easy, affordable and trustworthy option for buying used devices by the most popular manufacturers.

It wasn’t too long ago that she was just an employee before having the opportunity to take over the entire operation. See kids if you work hard and do good work great opportunities come your way.

Cora’s has new owners.

Douglas Chan, Wendy Cheung and Kenneth Chau have partnered to keep the good things that Pam and Warren MacPhee created a few years back.

Let’s hope that the new owners don’t face the same fire burning challenges Pam and Warren did when Cora’s first opened on Burtch Road. But if they do, let’s hope that they are as strong and successful as Pam and Warren were.

Douglas Chan will be in charge of the operations and, with over 15 years of restaurant experience, I am sure you can expect the same good food, great service and fun atmosphere.

We wish Pam and Warren all the best on their new venture.

I met Dustin Baulkham a few years ago, but I don’t get to see him any more because he is working to damn hard.

It is, however, very cool to see what he is accomplishing and he is extremely proud of creating the first Peak Pride at Big White this weekend.

Peak Pride is Canada’s newest winter pride destination. Peak Pride has something for everyone. From family friendly day events to high voltage nightlife with top tier talent Peak Pride brings our community together like never before.

It only makes sense that they bring the celebration up to one of the most spectacular peaks in all of Canada.

I am sure it is going to make for some great costumers at Wipeout too.
