Hello Kitty & OK real estate

I am sure you have seen or heard about the success that local company Visland Media Inc is having with its new to be filmed shows Sellers Market and Realty Reality.

Visland Media is a local media distribution company that is transforming the conventional development and distribution of high-quality media content.

It pains me to say it, but all of its success is because of CEO Alex Miller. Alex and I are friends, but we don’t like saying nice things about each other especially in public.

Visland Media is looking for people who want to buy or sell their home in the next nine months because they would like you to be the star of their new shows. Check them out

Another great local tech success story is the new app Hello Sanrio: Say Hello that was launched at Comic-Con in San Diego last week by Hyper Hippo and Sanrio Inc.

This brings together the Sanrio fans to share their love of Hello Kitty and friends in a unique safe environment.  Can you believe Hello Kitty is 42 years old.

I am sure lots of you out there would like to know what’s in her Kool Aid. Tech, Tech, Tech makes Heidi Mann’s blog from Accelerate Okanagan a must read each week to keep in touch with Kelowna’s tech industry.

Josh Gorges and Friends Hockey Tournament is happening Aug. 7 from 1-5 p.m. at Immaculate Regional High School. It’s a four-on-four tournament with all the proceeds going to the building of a new St. Joseph’s School to which Josh is an alumni.

Vanessa Burma-Mastroianni says this is a family event with more than just street hockey.  Come out and watch as I am told those fun nuns might have registered their own team.

You can register your team here.

Congratulations to Darryl Anderson for joining the Re/Max Management Solutions Team.

Darryl promotes his Property Manager success due to being reliable, responsive and producing results. You may have seen his marketing campaign “WINE”ing which offers wine in exchange for referrals. Check him out

Sticking with real estate, Coldwell Banker Horizon Realty’s new Art Gallery and luxury real estate lounge The Art of Okanagan Living will be having their grand opening at 5 p.m. on Aug. 11 at the Delta Grand.

“The new space will be open for visitors and local clients to meet a real estate agent in a relaxed and special setting,” Jennifer Odorizzi says.

“It will be a gathering space to invite the community in for gallery openings, client appreciation events and new project launches.”

With this booming real estate market, the realtors need a nice place to relax and take a deep breath.

The One Bag Challenge has turned out to be a rocking success.

If you are looking to help out more than join Michael Lavigne and Chad Smith as they are looking for volunteers for the Food Sharing Event happening on Saturday, Aug. 6 from 9 a.m. to noon.

This means if you could do some good work for the community before you play in Colin’s last golf tournament that afternoon. They need help harvesting vegetables, weeding and preparing the gardens for next year.  This too is a family event so bring the kids. Take a look.

Ciao Bella Winery in West Kelowna will be celebrating some award-winning wines with a concert on Sunday, Aug.7.

Wine will be available by the glass or bottle, so bring a picnic, sit in the family vineyard and listen to some great Italian music. This is a perfect post for me. A new business, award winners and hosting an event.

If every business in Kelowna could do this, it sure would make this article a whole lot easier to write.  Congratulations, Roberto Fuime.

Make it a great week!
