Ice Cube and movies

Ya Boy! Ice Cube is in town tonight at Monster Energy Center of Gravity

You know before you go to sleep you will be thinking, "Today was a good day!" and if you did something stupid, don't say, "Gangsta Rap made me do it."

Apparently, I am getting old because I had to Google Kid Ink and YouTube shows me that one of his videos has 146 million views, but I still didn't recognize the song.

But I can't be that old because I am excited for Afrojack and Skrillex Saturday and Sunday night. Oh, ya, this is a sports event too that includes beach volleyball, basketball, wakeboarding, FMX, skateboarding andBMX. Wet Ape Productions out does themselves every year so get yourself a ticket and meet me at City Park.

The Chamber of Commerce celebrated its 110th anniversary Wednesday night at Vibrant Vines. Wow!  Vibrant Vines is awesome!  Meeting and listening to the stories of the business excellence nominees was fun.

This town is filled with such passionate and hard working businesses we will be successful forever.

Is it possible to act out Every Movie Ever Written in just 75 minutes? Apparently so says the New Vintage Theatre's crack team of improvisers. Their picture shows Lord of the Rings, Nemo, Spider Man, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Titanic and a few more. They always put on a great shows and this one is free.

It’s happening this Sunday at Gyro Beach from 1-3 p.m. If you can't make it or you want to go see it again they will be in City Park on July 24.

Start Up drinks is happening on this afternoon from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the BananaTag and GetInTheLoop offices. This is normally reserved for techies getting to know each other and helping each other with tech issues, but this time they are inviting all of you, too.

Kelowna's tech industry is booming and if you want to meet some of the people driving that ship get over there and introduce yourself. Experience, Learn, Fail & Repeat is their motto.

Register through Accelerate Okanagan, as space is limited.

Imagine Kelowna! I don't know how I missed this a few weeks ago so if you already know skip to the next paragraph. Colin Basran says, “In the coming years, we’ll see significant shifts in economy, technology, resources, climate and people that will influence our community’s future. By participating in this process, we can all contribute to creating a thriving community for current and future generations.”

I love it!

I saw City Councillor Ryan Donn present how council works and his presentation made me believe that one person can make a difference so get online and tell them everything you want at imagine.kelowna.ca.

Sunrype’s new hard ciders are out and the big bottles are ready for consumption. Keeping with the local theme they are made with 100 per cent B.C. apples and pressed right here in Kelowna. I told you before that the cideries are going to start giving the local breweries and wineries a run for their money.

Don't forget to about the Sugar Plum Ball this Saturday. I have seen Nathan Flavel's vision for my drag costume and Gosh Darn it, I am going to be the sexiest one there.

Last chance to register or support Rene Bourgault's Legacy Golf Tournament. Help make this an epic event.

Make it a great week!
