Surveillance video of Irving's last day

One of the last people to see Brittney Irving alive testified that he sold her some GHB in the parking lot of a gas station on April 6, 2010.
Michael Hockley, sometimes known as “Happy G”, said he met Irving at the Chevron located on the corner of Highway 97 and Highway 33, sometime in either the late morning or early afternoon on the day she disappeared.
He had known her for between three and six months prior, and had sold her the drug a couple of times. At that meeting, which lasted around 10 minutes, Hockley testified that Irving was stressed out about her legal problems and saying she was going to go to rehab soon, but was also worried about that too.
After selling her the GHB, Hockley says Irving entered the gas station convenience store to buy a ‘chaser’. Surveillance video shown to the court was grainy and jarring, but Hockley was able to point out the times that Irving entered and exited the store, but at no time were the pair seen together.
Hockley also testified that Irving was wearing shorter, Capri-styled pants and flip-flops when he saw her. Irving’s body was found wearing the same styled pants, but large men’s running shoes on her feet. He made no mention of the large plaid jacket she was found wearing. She did not have it in her possession during the time she was in the convenience store.
During cross examination, Hockley’s prior criminal record was also brought to light, which included a number of convictions for break and enter, most of which stemmed from the late 1980’s and early 90’s.
Irving’s body was found on April 26, 2010 in a wood area off Highway 33, near the turnoff for Big White ski resort. Joelon Verma is charged with first-degree murder in her slaying.
