Man and dog united in fund-raising quest

They say the bond between a man and his dog is very powerful. In this case the bond is a strap which holds the dog to the man's back.
Yeap, that's pretty powerful.
Sean Tollington, 26, is currently riding his bike from Grimsby, On - near Toronto - to Victoria in an effort to raise funds for a charity organization called the 'Smile Train'. Smile Train is an international organization which, through surgery, fixes cleft lips on afflicted children from third world and developing nations.
His dog - Laika - a four-year-old husky, is making the journey with Tollington - while strapped to his back on the bike. Well, when times are good, and the bike is working fine, Laika rides strapped to her owner's back. Occasionally, due to malfunction, the pair are forced to continue the fundraising journey by foot, hitchhiking rather than riding.
Nevertheless, their goal remains fixed. What's more, man and dog have finally reached the Okanagan Valley - more specifically Kelowna, and will rest and recuperate at the home of Tollington's cousin, Leslie, who is a local resident.
Mostly, the pair have been camping at the side of roads during the trek, with the occasional minor biking injury, and dangerous road conditions. However whenever he can, he bikes - which is the vast majority of the trip. Their

The well-travelled duo have also drawn national attention by way of interviews with CBC television news, which can be Googled as well. And, if you're interested, you can call and leave a message for either rider or passenger or both, at 226-235-7326. Text messages also work.
