House party from hell destroys home

A video showing a destructive teen house party brings Makal Mann almost to tears. It was his house they were destroying. The YouTube video has since been taken down.

"They threw a TV through a window, my clothes are missing, Katies's (his partner) clothes are missing , they peed on the kids toys and smashed them in the bedroom," says Mann.

"They stole two laptop computers, an Xbox and a DVD player. The kids were feeding the 14-year-old dog alcohol, he's still sick, he's still throwing up. He's still bleeding."

Mann and his partner were at a romantic get-away at Big White when they got a call that his 17-year-old son, who does not live at the house and was supposed to be dog sitting, was having a party.

"I was thinking it's going to be bad, there's going to be stains on the carpet, there's going to be footprints, there's going to be spilt things, there's going to be a kitchen filled with beer bottles or empties," says Mann.

"When I walked in the front door with Katie I just started crying."

Katie is outraged at how this party got started.

"It didn't make a difference who it was. At that point we got confirmation it was pre-planned with the intent to destroy," says Katie.

It allegedly was pre-planned on the Okanagan Mission Secondary School grad 2013 Facebook page. Mann says the invite was for students to come and destroy the house.

"People knew this was going to happen. People knew, and nobody did anything," says Mann.

"It's unbelievable. To me it's unbelievable."

And as he was pointing the finger at social media, a man shows up with a few good-will items after reading about the catastrophe on Facebook.

Eric Montgomery says it's shocking what was done to the home.

"They don't realize what they have done and the emotional stress this has put on the family and the kids. It's disgusting," says Montgomery.

"I think we as people should help out."

The donations are welcomed as Poppy's two young boys will return home today from their father's to find their Christmas presents and even their shoes stolen.

Police who broke up the party say they removed about 100 people from the home.

RCMP officials say most of the individuals were cooperative and either took a cab or called family members to take them home.

Two arrests were made. A 19-year-old teen was arrested for assaulting a police officer while a 24-year-old man was arrested for causing a disturbance.

A 16-year-old girl, reported missing the previous day, was returned home.

This is the second alleged incident involving OKM grads.

In June of last year about 100 OKM grads attending a bush party trashed a Chute Lake Road campsite.
