Youth try to make a difference

More than 2,000 kids will be converging on Kelowna this month for one of the largest youth conferences in Canada.

The 9th annual Rush Youth Conference will be taking place Feb. 15 to 17 at the Kelowna Secondary School gym and other venues all over the city.

On Saturday afternoon, 200 of the kids will be partnering with World Vision, International Justice Mission, and Hope for the Nations to raise funds to rehabilitate child soldiers in Uganda.

Another 200 will be partnering with the Gospel Mission and Metro Community and meeting downtown for “Adopt-a-Block” – a cleanup of the cities downtown core.

Speakers and guests on hand at the event will include Tony Campolo, spiritual advisor to Bill Clinton, Bob Lenz, David Crowder and Starfield, the Canadian Christian band of the year.
