Snowshoeing at Big White

Snowshoeing is the fastest growing winter sport in the world and Big White has options for everyone from fledgling shoer to winter fitness fanatic! Guided snowshoe tours run every day at 10am and 1:30pm out of the Ski and Board School in the Village Centre Mall, and there are special early morning and late afternoon tours which need to be pre-booked. Bring your own snowshoes or rent them for just $6 extra. Dress in layers and wear snowboots or other warm, waterproof footwear. Sunrise Fitness Snowshoe (Ages 13+)
Perfect for early rising fitness fanatics! See the sun rise over the beautiful Monashee mountains and get in shape at the same time! Routes will depend on the ability level of the group - beginner groups will head up green runs, intermediates up blues and experts up blacks - all before the skiers and boarders hit the slopes. Prepare to see a spectacular side of Big White most people never get to experience!
Runs: 6:30am – 7:30am*
Drop in: $18 + tax with rentals, $12 + tax without rentals
*must be booked at least a day in advance, rentals need to be picked up the day before
Sunset Fitness Snowshoe (Ages 13+)
If early mornings aren't for you then why not head out on a sunset tour? Watch the sun go down over the horizon from the top of the runs and really earn that apres! Like the Sunrise option, routes depend on the ability level of the group.
Runs: 4:30pm – 5:30pm*
Drop in: $18 + tax with rentals, $12 + tax without rentals
*must be booked by 3:30pm
Family Adventure Tour
A great way to enjoy the great outdoors with the whole family, regardless of Ski or Snowboard ability. Head out on our trails with one of our guides who will tailor your route to suit the needs of the everyone in your group. All ages are welcome on this fun tour.
Runs: 1:30pm – 3:30pm
Adult drop in: $36 + tax with rentals, $30 + tax without rentals
Child (under 12) drop in: $30 + tax with rentals, $24 + tax without rentals
Interpretive Tour
Become one with nature on our interpretive Tour and learn more about the local environment. Our fully-trained guides will share their knowledge of our beautiful B.C. backcountry, flora and fauna and really enhance your Big White experience.
Runs: 10:00am – 12:00pm
Adult drop in: $36 + tax with rentals, $30 + tax without rentals
Child (under 12) drop in: $30 + tax with rentals, $24 + tax without rentals
Moonlight Tour
See the beauty of Big White by moonlight! From the village lights below to the constellations above, round off your day on the slopes with a perfect sight not to be missed. Headlamps will be provided and you will need to dress very warm. Please enquire at the Ski and Board School desk in the VCM before 3:30pm for availability and to book your tour.
Runs: 8:00pm till late (depends on weather and light conditions – during full moon only)

Child (under 12) drop in: $30 + tax with rentals, $24 + tax without rentals
Family Fun Run!
The Dirty Feet Snowshoe Fun Run will be a fun running and walking event for all ages.
This event will be held at Big White Ski Resort and will consist of 2 distances – Approximately 5km and 10km in distance
Lots of prizes to be won and there will be snacks and hot drinks for everybody. Come on out and enjoy the day! Go here for more information and to register.
