The premiere showing of the film "Reflections: Art for an Oil-Free Coast" will be hosted by the Alternator Gallery in Kelowna on Saturday, January 12.

The event will begin at 1:30 P.M. in the gallery at the Rotary Centre for the Arts, and will feature a series of speakers who will describe positive actions reflecting local practices and solutions that are oil free, energy efficient and environmentally friendly.

"This event is the first of our three events leading up to the National Energy Board hearings into the Enbridge Northern Gateway Pipeline being held in Kelowna at the Sandman Inn on Monday, January 28," said Karen Abramsen, chair of the Kelowna chapter of the Council of Canadians.

"Many Kelowna residents have made it clear that our coastline is not for sale and the artists in this film and the speakers help us to understand why we need to continue to push back on the environmental threats of the proposed pipelines."

Admission is by donation and will support the work of the Council of Canadians.
