The first annual Annual Shred the Shore event kicked-off over the weekend in Kelowna.

The premiere Freeski and Snowboard festival was put on by Fresh Air, and designed to get people excited for the upcoming snow season.

A rail jam took place in Stuart Park, where over 60 riders competed on snow shipped in for the event.

Multiple movies also premiered at the Kelowna Community Theater over the two days, which featured skiing and snowboarding's top talent.

According to Mike Clark of Fresh Air, over 1000 people attended the event.
