The BC Coroners Service has released the name of the man who died as a result of injuries sustained when he was hit by a vehicle on Springfield Road Tuesday night.

Mile Miljkovic, 76, of Kelowna was hit by a Pontiac Sunfire while he was crossing Springfield at Wilkinson about 8:30 Tuesday evening.

Witnesses say he was in the crosswalk at the time of the incident.

Miljkovic was taken to KGH, however, despite efforts of hospital staff, he succumbed to his injuries the following morning.

The BC Coroners Service and RCMP both continue to investigate the incident.
