The Kelowna RCMP General Investigation Section wants to identify a vehicle, and the owner/operator, involved in an apparent attempted arson Monday night.

On September 25 at 2:30 a.m., the Kelowna RCMP received a report that individuals were possibly trying to burn down the Mediterranean Market, located at 1078 Lawrence Avenue.

The two male suspects were interrupted and observed fleeing in a large, black, newer-model, GMC 3500 diesel pickup truck with the following options/accessories attached:

  • Larger (22-24") after-market tires on silver rims,
  • Allison Dynomax decal on side of truck,
  • Silver chrome or brushed aluminum “head ache” rack in box of truck with 6 welded vertical (on a 15-20 degree angle) rods,
  • In the middle of the “headache rack” there was an opening to the rear window. Affixed to the window was a “Kreator” decal
  • Two LED amber clearance/marker lamps were attached to the top of the headache rack facing backwards,

Anyone with any information is asked to call the Kelowna RCMP, Cst. Kevin Hamilton, at 250-762-3300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online.
