The Kelowna RCMP seized two boats over the weekend that police believe to be stolen and their Hull Identification Numbers (HIN) altered.
On August 4, at about 3 p.m., the Kelowna RCMP checked a vessel at the Eldorado boat launch. The black F23 Tomcat was found to have an altered HIN and its corresponding trailer had no visible VIN. The pair was seized as stolen property and a 31-year-old Surrey man was released on a Promise to Appear for Court in September.
On August 5, at around 12:45 a.m., the Kelowna RCMP along with the Integrated Gang Task Force conducted a vehicle stop on a Dodge Ram pulling a boat and trailer. The Sanger Black Scorpion appeared to have an altered HIN and was seized for further investigation.
