Bail hearing on hold for HA member
Jul 26, 2012 / 11:07 am
A Hells Angel will have to spend another week behind bars, before he can find out if he will be freed on bail.
Joseph Bruce Skreptak appeared, in person, before a Supreme Court Judge on Wednesday.
The bail hearing, which has a publication ban on matters discussed before the court, comes after Skreptak allegedly breached his conditions two weeks ago.
The Hells Angel is charged with possession of a controlled substance, break and enter, aggravated assault with intent, uttering threats and various fire arm charges.
The hearing has been put over until August, 2, where a Supreme Court Judge will listen to evidence presented by the crown, the defence, and several witnesses, including Skreptak himself, before making a decision on whether he will be released on bail again until his two trials.
His first trial will be held in Salmon Arm in September for weapons charges and possession, after he and four others were pulled over for speeding. Inside the car police found a number of firearms and a small quantity of drugs. In December, another trial will be held for Skreptak in Kelowna, stemming from the break and enter charge, where it is alleged he assaulted two men at a home in Rutland.
