Friends remember crash victim

Wednesday was supposed to be Ryan Cridland's 23rd birthday.  Sadly, he did not make it.

Cridland was killed following a two vehicle collision Tuesday afternoon, on KLO Road in front of the Okanagan College campus. He was driving his Suzuki motorcycle when it collided with a VW Cabriolet making a left turn from the campus parking lot.

Cridland was rushed to Kelowna General Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. His motorbike was smashed to pieces.

On the day when Cridland should have been celebrating, his friends were taking to Facebook expressing condolences.

They called the young man positive, happy, and a 'genuine beauty' who inspired people. He was also an avid downhill skier.

Most people are shocked Cridland passed away so young, writing posts such as; "I just saw you a couple of weeks ago", "It's so unfair to see you go" and "definitely happened too soon".

The Kelowna Secondary School graduate apparently entertained friends with back flips and was even referred to as 'speedboat' because of his energy.

There are photos posted online of Cridland sitting on his much loved motorbike. The Kelowna resident will be sorely missed. Many took to Castanet's forums to express their sympathy to Cridland's family and friends.

This is the third fatality involving a motorcycle in Kelowna in less than four months. The first occurred on March 20 when a motorcyclist was crushed by two vehicles at Harvey and Cooper, the second was on May 22 when a bike crashed into another vehicle on Springfield Road.
