On your mark, get set, clean!

Kelowna is in for an 'extreme makeover' Wednesday morning during the community-wide "20 Minute Makeover."

At 10 a.m. Wednesday, people are encouraged to drop what they're doing, come out of their offices, stores and homes and help give your neighbourhood a big Spring Clean.

"This community-wide event is so easy to take part in -- anyone can do it," says Regional Waste Facilitator, Rae Stewart.

"All you need is 20 minutes Wednesday morning to step outside and pick up litter, even sweep your sidewalk -- anything to do with litter clean-up works. It's just a 20 minute donation of one coffee break and, imagine how good you'll feel after pitching in, knowing you helped make our community just that much cleaner."

Club Penguin is just one of many businesses committed to lending their support to the cause.

"As a company, we have a lot of actions planned as a lead-up to Earth Day (April 22) and no job is too small," says Club Penguin team leader Rob Mason-Brown.

"A concentrated effort by a lot of people in a short time can accomplish a lot and we want to be part of helping our local environment -- the place we live, work and play."

Club Penguin will clean up an area around the Landmark Building.
