It didn't take long for police to discover there was a problem.
An RCMP officer, patrolling the Lakeshore Road area pulled over a motorist driving a vehicle on three tires and a bare rim.
Cst. Kris Clark says the vehicle had been observed weaving all over the road and was stopped on Lakeshore Road at Knowles Road just after midnight Wednesday.
"Police found the driver to have gross symptoms of impairment and was taken to the Kelowna Detachment for breath samples where he blew in excess of twice the legal limit," says Clark.
"The shredded tire was found about two kilometres away, along with the inner fender that had torn loose. Police later received reports the Green Toyota had nearly caused at least one collision."
Clark says the driver of the vehicle, a 25-year-old Kelowna man, faces impaired driving charges.
He was released on a Promise to Appear. He is scheduled to be in court in March.
