Kelowna: how romantic is our city?

This week, Amazon.ca released a list of the most romantic cities in Canada.

Apparently we’re an amorous group of people here in Kelowna, as our city was listed as the third most romantic spot. The only two Canadian cities ranked higher are from Ontario: Kingston (#1) and Guelph (#2).

Kelowna is followed by Oakville, Ont., Victoria, Saskatoon, Regina, Calgary, Kamloops, B.C., and St. John's, N.L.

Rounding out the top 20 are: Richmond Hill, Ont., Red Deer, Alta., Langley, B.C., and Winnipeg, followed by five Ontario cities -- Burlington, Thunder Bay, Barrie, Brantford and London -- and Burnaby, B.C.

On which scientific model did Amazon base their findings? Well, this was all formulated on sales of romance novels, rom-com DVDs and the gold standard of all that is romance: Michael Buble discs.

We wonder whether this study belongs on a luxurious bed of rose petals, or in the dark, stinky outhouse of irrelevance.

So we took to the streets to find out what Kelowna residents had to say about the study.
