The owner of a pawn shop in Rutland remains in Kelowna General Hospital after he was beaten and robbed, Wednesday afternoon.
The incident occurred about 3:45 p.m. at Savemore Pawnbrokers on Asher Road.
Police say the shop owner had just walked back into the store from taking a break when he was struck in the back of the head and on the arm several times.
The suspect stole a significant amount of jewellery and fled the scene on a bicycle.
The suspect has been seen in the Asher Road area over the past two weeks.
He is described as Caucasian in his mid 20s. He is approximately 6`tall with a thin build.
The suspect has small sores on his face and stubble on his chin. He was wearing a dark hooded jacket with a cream colour pattern, distressed blue jeans, black gloves, sunglasses and a ball cap.
