Brittney Irving trial moves forward

The lawyer for Joelon David Atish Verma was back in court Wednesday.

Verma is charged with first degree murder in the death and robbery of Brittney Irving.

A date was supposed to be set for trial, but Crown council did not have a list of witnesses prepared.

Most of the witnesses who will be called to the stand are RCMP members who are currently working in Armstrong, investigating the homicide of Taylor Van Diest.

The Judge instead set a pre-trial conference for mid-December.

Verma was not in court but his lawyer will speak on his behalf at the pre trial conference.

Before his arrest Verma was well known to police but had no criminal record.
