Sex offender dumps Kelowna

MISSION, B.C. - A man who police say has a history of sexual-related offences against adult women will be moving to the British Columbia community of Mission.

Originally, it was believed Jefferson would re-locate to Kelowna as early as Thursday.

The RCMP are warning the public that Andrew Aurie Jefferson was released from a federal corrections institution this week.

They say Jefferson's method included grabbing females from behind while they walk down the road, threatening to kill them if they scream, and then using a knife during a sexual offence.

Police say the man born in 1985 is Caucasian, five-feet, nine-and-half-inches tall, 183 pounds and has brown hair and green eyes.

A probation officer and the Mission RCMP will be monitoring Jefferson.

The conditions of Jefferson's release mean he can't contact or visit the residences or workplaces of any of his victims or members of their immediate families.
