Golfers on par for charity
Jun 1, 2011 / 1:54 pm
Sunset Ranch Golf & Country Club hosted the third annual B.C. Teen Challenge Charity Golf Tournament Monday.
The tournament raised over $35,000 for Teen Challenge.
All money raised goes to support a one-year residential program for men and women ages 19-45 who are trapped in life controlling addictions.
“All funds raised through the Charity Golf Tournament directly impacts a person’s life and assists them in transitioning back as productive citizens within our community,” says Anthony Ho, Community Liaison with the Okanagan Men’s Centre."
According to the Teen Challenge program, five years after graduating, 70% of students live clean and productive lives.
As a registered charity, B.C. Teen Challenge is solely funded by private donations of individuals, churches, and businesses.
The ongoing success of the event has been a result of the community support received from sponsors and individual donors.
