The fences have come down, at least for the time being, and Kerry Park is once again open.
This also means Kelowna Marina can begin dispensing fuel from its underground tank once again.
The taps were shut off and fences went up June 21 after a fuel leak was detected in the area near Kelowna Marina.
The underground tank is used by Kelowna Marina to refuel boats and sea-doos.
City Risk Manager, Lance Kayfish, says Kelowna Marina has installed a new fuel distribution system with a new fuel line running from the existing underground tank to the pumps.
Kayfish says the underground tank passed a nitrogen pressure test which indicates there are no leaks in the tank.
The old line, which is believed to have been the source of the leak, has been removed.
Kayfish says Kelowna Marina can begin boat fuelling following final approval by the Kelowna Fire Department.
"Protecting the lake was the city's top priority and we took immediate action to ensure the fuel leak was contained," says Kayfish.
"We ask park goers to be cautious on that section of uneven path, especially during the night. We hope to have the bricks back in place as soon as possible so the pathway can be accessible to all."
Walkway access will be temporarily limited while crews finish the brickwork.
Kayfish says site clean-up will resume again in the fall with the removal of any of the upland soil that has been affected.
Contaminated sand along Kerry Park Beach has already been removed from the site.
