Rabid man barges into woman's home

A man, frothing at the mouth, barged into the home of a Kelowna woman Wednesday afternoon.

The bizarre incident happened just after noon on March 3 in the 3000 block of Bulman Road in the Rutland area when the woman heard a knock at her front door.

Constable Steve Holmes says an unknown man, pushed past her and began to frantically search around her home.

“He appeared confused and was drooling or frothing at the mouth as he went into each room looking around, seemingly for something or someone. After knocking over a television and a portable heater, the man left as abruptly as he had arrived, leaving the frightened resident hiding under the kitchen table,” says Holmes.

He says the suspect did not harm the woman, nor did he take anything or say what he was looking for.

“He left the area in a grey van with no licence plate seen. The victim was at a loss to explain why he came into her home.”

Holmes says police did an extensive search of the area but did not locate the suspect or the van.

“The intruding male is being described as a Caucasian aged 35-40 years. He is 6' tall and is heavy set and appeared overweight. He had black, slicked-back short hair. He was wearing a black hoodie, black jeans and black boots.”

Police area asking for any information regarding the whereabouts and identity of the suspect.
