A Kelowna man will be in court Friday to face a charge of sexual assault.
The 44-year-old man is accused of sexually assaulting a 54-year-old woman on December 30, 2009.
Constable Steve Holmes says the assault took place in a residence in the 2000 block of Highway 97 South.
“The suspect, who is known to the victim, was inside the residence doing work there when the incident took place,” says Holmes.
He says the incident was not reported to police for several days out of fear.
“RCMP arrested the suspect Thursday night and he remained in police custody pending his court appearance Friday.”
Holmes says the man is known to police for Criminal Code issues.
