Dog's mystery death investigated
by Kim Calloway - Power 104 - Story: 50998

Someone has killed a Kelowna resident's pet dog. But the 'how' and 'who' of last night's incident are still mysteries.

Kelowna RCMP say they showed up in force around 10 o'clock, responding to a complaint by a Westpoint Court resident that someone had shot his dog.

Police say they located the dog's body in the caller's yard, but even an RCMP dog master couldn't determine if the pet had been shot, or possibly stabbed. No actual gunshots were reported heard by any neighbors.

Police combed the cul-de-sac that runs off Westpoint Drive, near DeHart and Gordon, for close to two hours, with no success.

RCMP say the extremely upset dog owner has asked a veterinarian to determine his pet's cause of death.
