A local homeless shelter had a successful fundraiser later last month.
Inn From the Cold held an inaugural event called the 'Love Inn' overnight on September 25 to raise money for Kelowna's homeless population.
The event was inspired by the 40th anniversary of the famous 'love in' by John Lennon and Yoko Ono.
Local dignitaries who attended the event included city councillors Angela Reid and Michelle Rule. Also in attendance were Robert Fine and MLA Steve Thompson.
UBCO math professor, Wayne Broughton, agreed to have his hair dyed green if he could raise $1,000 for the cause.
The overnight guests represented hundreds of donors who pledged to have them spend the night at Inn From the Cold.
In all, some $12,000 was raised.
