An intense, if brief, storm passed over the Okanagan Sunday afternoon.
The wind blew through the Valley pretty quickly, but still managed to do some damage, knocking down power lines and a few trees.
One large tree on Sutherland Avenue in Kelowna was knocked down and landed on two vehicles parked near Shady Rest Fish and Chips.
Chris Emond with Environment Canada says the wind hit speeds of 60 k/hr around Kelowna and Penticton.
“There were also reports of pea-sized hail north of Kelowna and near Armstrong,” says Emond.
He says the rain that accompanied the storm wasn't as much of an accumulation as you might think.
“In the mountains it was only about 15 mm, in the Valley it was only about 5mm.”
Emond says the temperatures are expected to rise later in the week, with a predict high for Friday of 26 degrees.
