COG crowds well behaved: RCMP

The crowds at Kelowna's Center of Gravity event were fairly well behaved, according to the RCMP.

Constable Steve Holmes says there were no major incidents stemming from the weekend long event held in Kelowna City Park.

“There were of course some fights and some drunk people to be dealt with, but nothing earth shaking,” says Holmes.

He says there were less than 60 files to be dealt with by police between Saturday and Sunday.

“The biggest incident over the weekend was of course the flare up of the Terrace Mountain fire. The biggest problem was the reallocation of man power to help with what was going on with the reestablishment of the evacuation orders.”

Holmes says because the fire affected areas in their detachment area, they had to pull some officers off of regular shifts to man the restricted zones.
