He got away from police.
Kelowna RCMP responded to a tip received Monday evening around 7 p.m. that Michael Best had been seen near a home in the 700 block of KLO Road.
Constable Steve Holmes says Best, 25, is wanted for breach of a conditional sentence order stemming from an assault conviction.
“Police attended with the intent of arresting him, but Best fled on foot upon police arrival. Police cordoned off an area surrounding a marsh on KLO and an RCMP police dog and Air 3 assisted in an attempt to locate him,” says Holmes.
He says the search was called off when Best could not be located.
“Police are asking that if anyone sees Best, who is described as being Caucasian, 5'9" tall, medium build, 155 lbs, with brown hair and blue eyes, to please call the Kelowna RCMP at 762-3300, or Crime Stoppers.”
