Project Family Room nears completion

A Kelowna family will get to move into their new home prior to Christmas after all.

Bob and Crystal Mandryk and their nine children will move into the home just 13 weeks after the home was demolished to much fanfare.

The couple had outgrown their 1,000 square foot home and through the generous donations of more than 100 companies, a 3,500 square foot home was constructed on the same site.

Demolition took place September 3.

"The project gained momentum after we told the story of this great, large family with a home that was too small," says Project Manager, Paul Benson.

"After the first 35 companies committed to the project, another 70 jumped on board to help us complete it. It really has touched the hearts of many in our community."

The keys will be turned over to the Mandryk's on Thursday, December 11.
