The Coquihalla Connector was the scene of a fatal car accident Friday afternoon.

A 57-year-old woman died just after 2:30 p.m. when the driver of an eastbound Mazda Miata lost control of the vehicle near the Brenda Mines exit.

RCMP officials say the car went into the centre median, flipped in the air, and landed upside down in the eastbound lanes.

The woman, who was the passenger, died at the scene, and the driver was taken to Kelowna General Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
