The murder of a Lake Country man nearly four years ago has wrapped up with three guilty pleas.
Douglas Kuntz, an auto-broker, was gunned down in the garage of his Lake Country home in February, 2003. He had been shot eight times.
Four men were charged with Kuntz's murder including Dale Johnny Habib, David Poirier, Joshua Fell and Paul Roop.
The charges against Habib were stayed. His alleged co-accused all pled guilty in Kelowna court as their trials were about to get under way.
Poirier, the trigger man, pled guilty to first degree murder and sentenced to a mandatory 25 years in prison as was Roop who drove the getaway car.
Fell was charged with being an accessory after the fact to murder and sentenced to time served in prison.
The Crown says Kuntz was killed because someone owed him more than $300,000 and the accused were hired to settle the account.
Two large cheques were found on Kuntz when he was murdered.
