There is now a place to take your used fluorescent bulbs for disposal, while keeping mercury out of our landfills.
It's called the 'bulb eater' and looks like a sci-fi robot, which crushes light bulbs, filters out the mercury and separates the glass shards.
The machine is at the 'Battery Doctors' on Windsor Road.
Disposal of fluorescent light bulbs is free, with the costs being covered by the Regional Waste Reduction Office and others.
For more info, call the Battery Doctors at 860-2866.
