Campaign raising funds for Early Learning Centre at Big White

For little ones at Big White

Efforts are underway to open an Early Learning Centre to support the youngest residents of Big White.

The resort has grown to include year-round families, bringing with them a need for child care.

The Big White Mountain Community Association has risen to the challenge with a gofundme page to raise $5,000 toward an overall goal of $40,000 to get the centre running.

They already have approved space in the community school, a teacher, and an initial permit.

It has taken two years of volunteer work to get this far, and Insure Wealth helped the cause with a $1,000 donation recently.

“This will be a fantastic addition to the mountain's amenities ... allowing new families to move here, businesses to grow with new employees, real estate to sell, and our youngest residents to have a quality preschool experience without leaving the mountain," the group says.

Programs will cater to 18 to 35 month olds, and another to three to five year olds.

After one year, the centre will be eligible for grants to keep registration fees affordable.
