Dan Albas, candidate Central Okanagan-Similkameen-Nicola

Castanet has invited all the Central Okanagan federal candidates for sit-down video interviews as election day approaches on Oct. 21.

Dan Albas is the incumbent and is running for re-election as the Conservative candidate for the riding of Central Okanagan-Similkameen-Nicola.

Albas says the biggest issues he's hearing revolve around the cost of living. "Pensions and wages on general are not keeping pace with inflation. People are feeling the pinch."

Albas says the government in Ottawa right now is "spending money like it's going out of style." 

"We want to see more money their pockets. We're going to bring in a universal tax cut. There is a sense that federal money could be better spent on local priorities."
