Kelowna fire crews were called to a building on Cambro Road Saturday afternoon after a fire alarm was activated
They arrived to find smoke pouring from the structure.
Crews discovered a large piece of industrial equipment on fire, and extinguished the flames with a hand line.
Three engines, a command unit, rescue truck and 14 fire personnel were on scene to fight the fire.
The blaze is not considered suspicious.
The fire department wants to take this opportunity to remind the public that fire and carbon monoxide alarms are important and save lives, and to be sure to check batteries on a regular basis.
