Fuhr doc to hit Kelowna

The story of former Edmonton Oilers' goaltender Grant Fuhr hits the big screen in Kelowna later this spring.

The documentary, "Making Coco: The Grant Fuhr Story" will make its Kelowna premier Sunday, June 16 at the Grand 10 Cinema.

Kelowna filmmaker Adam Scorgie co-produced the documentary which delves into every aspect of Fuhr's career and life, including his admitted drug use that forced him to miss the first half of the 1990-91 season after he was suspended by the NHL.

The documentary features Fuhr, along with several of his former Oiler teammates and other NHL stars.

It debuted in Edmonton in October, and was part of the Calgary International Film Festival.

The film is the latest in a long line of documentaries produced by Scorgie, including the critically acclaimed Ice Guardians, The Union and Culture High, Chasing Evel: The Robbie Knievel Story and the soon-to-be-released Inmate #1: The Rise of Danny Trejo.
