Naked woman tells her story

A naked woman seen sitting outside the Kelowna RCMP detachment has come forward with her story.

The woman, who wishes to stay anonymous, says she decided to strip down out of protest over an altercation that took place Friday night.

''I was assaulted by a bouncer at Fernando's Pub. I was asked to leave due to an altercation with the bouncer. I told him I would walk myself out, and he forcibly removed me. He ended up choking me,'' the woman claims.

She says she fled the scene right after the incident because she felt overwhelmed.

''I ended up going to Kelowna General Hospital around 2 a.m. They said I have soft tissue damage in my neck.... I then tried calling RCMP to give a statement, but they were unresponsive.''

She said she tried calling police three times in the span of 12 hours, with no response. That's when she decided to take matters into her own hands.

''I phoned 911, and dispatch. I even went so far as to call the fire department while I was sitting naked at the RCMP detachment. I told them there was a fire. I said that I was fuming, and that I was the fire and that they needed to put me out.''

''I sat for 15 minutes naked until an RCMP officer came to talk to me. They sexualized me by telling me to to zip my vest up ... I said no, that I'm allowed to be topless in public, and he said it was very distracting.''

RCMP handcuffed the woman and took her to Kelowna General Hospital, where she is being assessed.

''I feel my actions weren't too extreme in lieu of the circumstances,'' she added.
